Flesh Meat Doll(s): The Most Awkward Boner I’ve Ever Had

So, a few months back I reviewed a great film called Portraits of Andrea Palmer. It was a dark thriller that blended a stark reality with horror and sex. I loved it. I woke up this morning with a message from the director, C. Huston. In that message was a link and an invitation to check out his short film Flesh Meat Doll(s). It was like the universe conspired to deliver an incredibly fitting birthday gift.

After being totally blindsided by the sheer amount of unsimulated sex in Portraits, I figured that I knew what I was getting into with Flesh Meat Doll(s). I was wrong and I am glad I was wrong. This short blew my mind and really made me wonder about myself.

The film opens with a nameless man balling a dead man. He is just deep ramming the bloody dook chute of this corpse hanging by his hands on an A-frame type thing. Then we cut to the nude body of a dead woman. The shot zooms out and we get a good look at her pussy. There’s a bit of necro foreplay and then our nameless man goes to work banging the bloody vag of the corpse. He pulls out, finishes on her belly hip and then things get really interesting. At the climax of the scene, he cuts the body’s gut open and literally puts his dick in her guts. I’m pretty sure he gave her a cream pie in her intestines.  Flesh Meat Doll(s) is fifteen minutes of literal gore porn and I am so there for it.

Ya know, I never understood why Ruggero Deodato had to have his cast show up in court to avoid murder charges. I also never understood how anyone could watch one of the old Guinea Pig films and thinking that they were really watching people die. The effects were good but they weren’t that damned good. There was a span of about ten seconds while watching Flesh Meat Doll(s) that I found myself wondering if I was watching some kind of necrophilia fetish snuff film. The practical effects in this film are exquisite and when combined with the the unsimulated sex acts it creates something that feels all the more real. To me, it didn’t feel like watching a horror film nor did it feel like watching a porno. It felt like I was seeing something that wasn’t meant for my eyes; like I was watching something hidden and taboo.

There is no dialog in this movie but that doesn’t mean it is silent. The score in Flesh Meat Doll(s) is perfect. It seems like it was designed to elevate the tension of the viewer. I honestly think that the score did almost as much as the cock plunging into bloody corpse pussy in the way of making the entire film an uncomfortable watch.

While I thoroughly enjoyed what was happening on the screen, I think my favorite part about this film was what happened in my head. See, part of what made this film so uncomfortable was the level of eroticism and how effective it was. Getting into a well-done gore scene is one thing. Being rock hard for the whole experience made me ask myself some questions. I don’t care if it’s LSD or taboo pornography, I respect anything that sparks real introspective thought in this day and age.

All in all would I recommend  this film? I mean if the prospect of watching necro gore porn appeals to you then by all means seek this movie out and watch it.  It’s as well made as it is disturbing and who knows you might find out some things about yourself by watching it; I know I did. With two incredible and disturbing films under their collective belt, I am excited to see what comes from C. Huston and Tomorrow Productions in the future.
