Third Annual Movie Crypt 48 Hour Marathon to Save the Yorkies
I have some awesome news for you guys! Adam Green (Hatchet), Joe Lynch (Mayhem), and Arwen (Yorkie Extraordinaire) are bringing us a two day marathon full of Movie Crypt badassery! There will be live script readings, live comedy, live music, live liveness, live effects demonstrations, and possibly the only Yorkie- hosted charity auction you’ll see outside of the suburbs! It’s all for a good cause, too! The guys are raising money for the Save A Yorkie Rescue. They’re staying up all night so those cute little fluff balls don’t get put to sleep and you can help!
First I’m going to let you know how you can help save some puppers and then we’re going to talk about how cool this show is going to be, okay? Good. First off, you can go here and donate to the GoFundMe that they’ve set up and at some point during the festivities they’ll drop the link for Arwen’s Silent Auction where you’ll get to bid on a bunch of cool stuff that has been donated by some of Arwen’s celebrity pals. You’ll be able to bid on naming a character on The Goldbergs, a guest spot on Doug Benson’s Doug Loves Movies, as well as a bunch of screen used props and wardrobe. You can even bid on a date with either Adam Green, Joe Lynch, or Arwen! All of the money that they collect will go straight to the Save A Yorkie Rescue. All of it.
Now, what do you get out of it besides warm fuzzies and possibly a date with one of the Movie Crypt crew? Well, I’ll tell you. They are keeping the details of the full lineup pretty close to their vests but they’ll be doing script readings for George A. Romero’s never produced The Mummy and the fabled R-rated Gremlins script. Gremlins director Joe Dante will also be stopping by as will plenty of other celebrity guests. You like celebrity guests, huh? How about Kane Hodder, Felissa Rose, and Tiffany Shepis dropping by for a Victor Crowley commentary? Yeah. That’s happening. There will also be a live commentary on the only good Star Wars movies (my words not theirs). There will also be musical guests and all manner of other goodness that you’d expect from The Movie Crypt.
Sound good to you? You ready to get involved? Ok. Good! On Friday the 14th at 6pm EST/5pm CST the two hour preshow featuring DJ Green and MC Licks-A-Lot will kick off and a link to listen will be posted on ArieScope’s website. After that two hour pre-show, the crew will take their microphones and the true madness will begin.
Every time I come across one of these big events I get all sentimental about it. This is another chance for us to come together as a community and enjoy some great live stuff. This time is special, though, because we’re not just coming together to watch movies and enjoy an experience. We can do a good deed while we’re at it. We can help the fellas raise money to help abandoned, homeless, abused, and neglected Yorkies get the care and medical attention they need. Even if you can’t tune in for the duration of the marathon, drop in and check it out or hit up that GoFundMe or the silent auction. Spread the word like herpes, friends.
